Comment: I am furious with what happens with the wild animals. I feel helpless because majority of this is happening in England. I will fully devote myself to this cause if any of this happens in Toronto.
Comment: its out of order they should stop this madness its stupid/unfair ...
we should try and stop it!
Comment: I myself enjoy game shooting and vermin control with a gun.I have had a look through this website and i am absolutely DISGUSTED by what I have seen, I am a member of BASC which i have learned they support terrier work and I will NOT be renewing my membership.I know and believe that foxes need controlled as they can destroy a life times work in a chicken pen in one night. I believe that foxes should only be killed when there is a GOOD reason and not just for so called fun as it is in many cases. When a fox is shot it is dead before it hits the ground and the animal is dispatched without any stress. I support a ban on digging out.
Comment: terrier work that goes on disgusts me.
It's websites like this that deserve alot of praise.
Both my sisters agree with fox hunting and even i have attended the odd drag hunt but "DIGGING OUT" has really opened my eyes. Ccongratulations.
Comment: Perhaps all male humans should be castrated before puberty to stop them becoming so aggressive?
Why is a small percentage of the human population allowed to get away with this? If newspapers and forums which allow these social inadequates to gee each other up and encourage each other were banned it might make things harder for them. I also think lifelong animal keeping bans, curfews, confiscation of dogs and vehicles and big fines might help. The laws are too lax.If I allowed one of my dogs to go about with terrible injuries untreated, I would rightly be prosecuted.
Comment: hi i am a terrierman myself but could i just say there is a right way to do it and there is a wrong way most of them go for the wrong way
Comment: It is ridiculous for foxhunters to say that they don't enjoy the animal being killed. Why are they bloody well there?
Badger baiting and foxhunting is obscene and disgusting, as is all cruelty to animals. Somehow this sadism is contained under the name of 'sport' and 'tradition'. What I find particularly wrong is that small children are taken along to hunts to witness animals being torn apart and mutilated for the pleasure of adults, and then small children have their faces daubed with the blood of these mutilated animals. this is child abuse and warrants investigation by the social services. It is illegal for a child to watch a 15 or 18 video yet huntsmen take children along to indulge in this filth.
When are the laws of this country going to be enforced?
foxhunting is now illegal, so is badger baiting, yet prosecutions are few and far between and the police turn a blind eye to illegal hunting. It is wrong that in a democracy some people are still above the law, this puts the law into disrepute.
Good luck with the campaign, I shall do my bit, and in particular to stop children being taken to hunts and witnessing cruelty to animals. This is child abuse.
Comment: The heartless thugs involved in the vile activities highlighted in this website should be locked up for many years not left to roam our countryside. They really do take cowardice and callousness to a new level and bring shame on britain. Terrier work of any kind should be made illegal imediately. It has no place in a civilised society and neither have the yellow bellied bullies who participant in it.
Digging Out: Couldn't have put it better ourselves, thanks Pete!
Comment: I read with interest and some amusement your site and accounts of illegal activities with terrier dogs. why is it the english spend an enormous amount of time and resources persuing animals that are considered inedible by most people? i suppose on an island hardly bigger than my state with a population of 60 million, things are different. i reckon people bump into each other more, and there's a lot more squabbling over the precious few natural resources that are left.
people have terriers of all kinds here, but they are never used for hunting of any sort, believe me. hunting for rodents and other members of the canine race is unheard of here (Wiscousin - the badger state). those that hunt, hunt for game that can and will be eaten, such as pheasants, deer, wild turkey, and ruffed grouse. this hunting activity, which is enormously popular in this state (750,000 hunters during the gun deer season in wisconsin), is carefully c ontrolled and regulated by the wisconsin dept. of natural resources. the dnr legally owns every beast of the field, fish in the sea, and fowl in the air. on species that are legal to hunt, there are very specific rules on season dates, hours of hunting, methods and weapons used, use of dogs (or not), and daily bag and season limits, to mention a few. 99% of outdoor sportsmen agree with and obey the rules, including myself. most of us would report any illegal activity, we are concerned about protecting and preserving all natural resources, and ensuring "fair chase." no one hunts badgers, there are not many, and there is no trapping or hunting season for them, and the few around are left alone. they are very dangerous animals, no dog could tangle with an american badger and win.
i have an airedale, a lovable, friendly pet. i may try to use him for hunting pheasants this fall. but those owners of well trained retrievers and pointers will no doubt look at me with pity or ridicule, since terriers are not considered hunting dogs here. but i do notice his clownlike antics change suddenly in the presence of a small rodent, such as a squirrel or chipmunk. we do have problems with dog fights here, usually the dogs involved are american pit bulls, a close cousin of the staffordshire terrier. it is a felony to fight dogs, and those that do risk severe penalties, including prison time. it is considered a digusting and cruel activity by almost everyone.
Comment: This site is excellent it shows the reality of what happends to our wildlife at the hands of people that get a kick out of seeing animals suffer be it hunting or badger digging this type of sick sport needs exposing and your site is doing an excellent job of exposing the reality of what happens.
Keep up the excellent work as I know you will.
Digging Out: Thanks Anthony and thanks for your support with your excellent and informative site: www.anthony-dacko.net
Comment: It was good news when a Liverpool terrier man was arrested and convicted inder the Hunting Act recently - but what about similar brutality still carrying on in the big-name fox hunts? We clearly need tougher police action and a less deferential they-know-best attitude - particularly when there is clear evidence of interference with badger setts!
Comment: Thanks for the new look site and all the work you do.
The sheer barbarity and thuggery shown on your photo pages shows the true face of the hunt thugs.
Digging Out: Thanks Chris, like yourself (http://chriswgale.typepad.com/) we believe the public should be shown the reality of animal abuse.
Comment: Congratulations on the redesigned site! Did you see the comments by 'Leveller' and Liam on a hunting forum.
Digging Out: Thanks Martin although all credit is due to TPOF Web Design Solutions who now maintain our site. Yes we saw their comments and we all had a good laugh at them. Leveller is just gullible. :-)
Comment: ACT is aimed at exposing the cruelty of Corvid Traps, and the way they are misused to catch Raptors (birds of prey). Although mainly used by gamekeepers, a small proportion (almost always Larsen Traps) are used by domestic households to catch magpies, rooks, crows and jackdaws. The traps are most commonly set during February to May, but can be in use all year round in some places. Please keep a look out for Larsen traps and visit our webite: www.againstcorvidtraps.co.uk
Digging Out: Excellent website, keep up the good work exposing the cruelty of the shooting industry!
Comment: I have terriers and i hunt foxes rats and rabbits, but after watching the videos on people digging badgers i feel sickend. It is people like Mr Billingham who spoil eveything. They are cruel bastards who have no intention of sport or humane control, they want to see theyre dogs kill animals, they want a baiting session. There is no excuse for their behaviour, they ruin it for the rest of the community. Badgers cause little or no damage and should be left alone unless they are becoming pests, and even then they should be delt with humanley and in most circumstances not killed.
I hope this post is viewd on the ste as it will help tp show that we are not all like the Cruel and antisocial people who are ruining countrysports for the rest of us.
Comment: I am not a Anti, but it makes my blood boil to see the Cruelty that is Inflicted against the Badger, by these so called sportsmen,to call them Animals them selves, would be an Insult to the Animal kingdom,When they are caught throw the book at them.
Comment: The idea that some people actually get pleasure from the torture of animals fills me with despair. They should be put down at birth. Your fight to end the most gross cruelty shows you have your finger on the right botton. I will support you in any way I can.
Comment: Visited your site today from Texas I am originally from England and I am horrified as to what I have seen on your pages. I always thought that England was a nation of animal lovers but obviously a small minority have no respect for animal life or even humans.
I just do not understand why anyone would want to inflict so much cruelty and pain onto another animal. I hope that in this life or the next there will be true retribution. Maybe these inhumane individuals will all be reincarnated as foxes, badgers, hares!!!!!!!!!

Comment: I wholeheartedly and unreservedly support your campaign. Please don't ever stop until this sickening disgrace is resigned to the history books. This is not a sport, the only word I can use is sadism.
